Co-op Local Community Fund Visit Celebrates New Archery Equipment
2nd June 2026

On Tuesday 2nd June, 1st Dymchurch Scout Group welcomed Caroline from the Co-op to see first-hand how support from the Co-op Local Community Fund has benefited our young people.
Thanks to the funding received, the Group has been able to purchase new archery equipment, providing exciting opportunities for young people to develop new skills, improve their confidence, and take part in challenging and enjoyable activities.
During her visit, Caroline had the chance to see the equipment in use and experience archery for herself. With guidance from our volunteer leaders and young people, she took aim and even managed to hit the target during her session!
The evening also provided an opportunity to discuss the work of the Co-op and the positive impact that community funding has on local organisations. Caroline was particularly impressed by the young people's knowledge of the Co-op, Fairtrade, and the importance of supporting communities both locally and globally.
We are incredibly grateful to the Co-op Local Community Fund and everyone who chose to support 1st Dymchurch Scout Group through their membership. Their generosity has enabled us to provide new experiences and opportunities for our young people, helping them develop valuable skills for life.
A huge thank you to Caroline for taking the time to visit us and for the continued support of the Co-op. We look forward to making great use of the new equipment for many years to come.
